AUGUST 28TH, 2010: SATURDAY: THE ANNUAL ATHENS THEATER WINE TASTING AND AUCTION. This year the benefit will be held at the Cultural Arts Center/Museum of Florida Art located at 600 N. OCTOBER 1ST, 2010 (FRIDAY): The Pasta Art Gallery, Historic Downtown St. Augustine, Florida. This is the first Friday Art Walk. Each Gallery has wine and snacks and some have live music. Performances for July will be almost non-existent (unless at a venue in the Bahamas) because I will be making my first Gulf Stream crossing to the Bahamian Abacos in the Drake, my old but very sea-worthy, English made, 31' Golden Hind sloop (hence the name "Drake," after Sir Francis Drake, who named his boat the Goldenhind, which was the coat of arms of his financial backer.). Regular performances will begin in August and posted here.

AUGUST 15TH, 2008 (FRIDAY): HALIFAX SAILING ASSOCIATION'S MONTHLY SESSIONS ON SAILING (FKA "HOWLING AT THE MOON): On the Friday nearest the full moon we have a lesson on sailing by members or guests for the benefit of all. After will be social time, and for those that are adventurous, night sailing. We try to get started around 6:30 or 7:00. I'll start playing around 7:30pm. The Sailing Center and grounds are located at the end of Fremont Court. Starting at Beach St and Orange Ave, take Beach Street south. The next stop light is at the marina, the next light is Bellevue. Go one more block south, turn left (east) on to Fremont Court, look for "Halifax Sailing Association" sign . May 10th, 2008. National Xtreme Baseball: Violinist, Charlie Gear www.charliegear.com will be performing at the NXBL's Daytona Stingrays opening day game on Saturday, May 10th for the pre game festivities @ 6PM. His works comprise of a wide variety of original instrumental tunes, backed by sequencer accompaniment, which fuse a New Age/blues/jazz/celtic feel. The location of the event will be HollyLand Park 1046 Ridgewood Avenue in Holly Hill which will be the home field venue for the Daytona Stingrays. Having artist performing at these games will certainly add a nice touch to the event. The City of Holly Hill has never before accommodated a sporting event in this caliber and the National Extreme Baseball League is gracious to be able to bring these games to the Daytona Beach area. The baseball field there will be transformed into a makeshift stadium environment to accommodate 500 patrons. We anticipate many from the community to attend these games regularly throughout the course of the season. The games at HollyLand Park will be held every other week on either a Friday or Saturday though November. Xtreme Baseball offers a new way to play baseball and was created by SSA President Phil Weidner. The game is played on a double diamond where both teams play on the field at the same time. Its definitely fun for the whole family to watch and enjoy in a safe friendly atmosphere. Many other Songwriters will be performing at the other upcoming NXBL games scheduled throughout the season. The SSA is an organization that has been creating performance opportunities for songwriters and original bands since 1999. Orange Blossom Music Festival May 20th, 21st, 22nd: I'm playing all three days. General Info: This 3 day music fest will be held on a privately owned 60 acre farm located 7 miles north of Deland Florida. This beautiful property consists of over 600 orange trees, swimming pool, stocked fishing ponds and nature trails. The music featured at the event will consist of many different styles from mainly Florida/Georgia based indie acts. Accommodations include FREE camping when you buy your event pass in advance.
